Wall Preparation Guidelines (Please Read Before Installation)

Proper wall prep ensures the best finish and long-lasting results. Poor preparation is the most common cause of bubbling, peeling, and visible imperfections.

1. Clean & Dry Surface
Walls must be free of dust, grease, and dirt, and completely dry, for the wallpaper to adhere properly and last.

2. Smooth Surface, No Undulation
Bumpy, textured, or wavy walls should be filled and sanded smooth. Undulation or dips will show through the wallpaper and affect seam alignment.

3. No Dampness or Seepage
Walls must be fully dry with no signs of seepage or dampness, as trapped moisture is a leading cause of wallpaper failure.

4. No Cracks
Cracks and holes should be filled and sanded smooth; larger cracks may need mesh tape and multiple coats of filler to prevent reappearing.

5. Curing Time for Fresh Plaster/Paint
Freshly painted walls need 2–4 weeks to cure before wallpapering, to avoid trapped moisture and poor adhesion.

6. Putty + Primer Finish
A putty and primer coat creates a sealed, stable surface that helps the wallpaper adhere better and last longer.

7. Remove Old Wallpaper
Old wallpaper should be fully stripped, as it can interfere with adhesion or show through the new design.
